Applications Flooding In For 2005 Cadillac Van Isle 360 Race

OCTOBER 29- 2004 - NANAIMO, B.C. - Just over one month ago organizers of the Cadillac Van Isle 360 announced the dates for the 2005 race around Vancouver Island, B.C. as June 11 - 27. The response to this announcement has been overwhelming with more than 65 boats to date stating their desire to enter and asking for Entry Information.

Entry Applications are now flooding in and from some very cool boats. The first, which arrived one day after sending out the entry information, came from "Kinetic", David Sutcliffe's beautiful new Beneteau First 47.7, with a PHRF NW rating of 25. Kinetic, hails from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and has raced in the 2004 Vic Maui, Swiftsure and Southern Straits races. The boat has not yet participated in the Cadillac Van Isle 360.

Among some of the other notable applications received to date are Flash, Steve Travis' One Design 48 which rates ( -25); Darby, Steven Tuck's C&C 121 rating 66; Cassiopeia, Gary Shoenrock's 72 foot Davidson rating (-73); Daryl Homan's Evolution and her sister ship Allons-y, owned by Carl Richardson, two Beneteau First 36.7's and many others.

The deadline to apply to enter is Jan. 5, 05. Boats have until then to send in the completed application and required documents. Entry information can be downloaded from the race website. Race Director, Wayne Gorrie states, " We are totally pumped!!!! We are not only attracting a lot of new boats to the race but almost everyone who has done the event in the past is wanting to return. The 2005 Cadillac Van Isle 360 is shaping up to be the most exciting one yet!!!"
