Countries And A Fleet Composed Of Over 143 Boats

Valencia. June 30, 2004. With a
fleet composed by 145 boats, representing 13 different
countries and 3 continents, the VI Trofeo S.M
La Reina will start next Friday, hosted by Real
Club Náutico de Valencia.
In
this edition -the sixth-, the organisation has
the biggest number of entries, with the fleet
divided by seven different groups: IMS 500, IMS
600, Group C, Group D, IMS CLUB and Classics.
The
racing format includes six Windward-Leeward races
for the three days of competition.
This
year, this prestigious IMS Championship will see
the fight, in which Spain with 15 IMS boats will
face against Italy, Norway, Great Britain and
Australia.
On
IMS 500, Spain will count on units like the new
OffShore Team World Champion, the JV 46 ft. “Telefónica
MoviStar” skippered by Pedro Campos, and
the European Champion “TAU UBS” a
new BC58 ft., skippered by Laureano Wizner. The
Championship will see the launch of “CAM”,
a new 54 ft. Farr design with the Olympic medallist
Fernando León as a skipper.
On
IMS 600, the spectators may enjoy with a great
battle between the countries represented - Spain,
Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark and Uruguay-. On
this division, Vasco Vascotto, the new World Champion,
will sail with his GS 42 ft.“Telefónica
