ITALIAN OLYMPIC CLASSES IN TRIESTE, ITALY

Thanks to the coming of the wind, which finally showed up in Gulf of Trieste, many races were completed today in the Italian Olympic Championship for sailing, event open to all nationalities.

The breeze, which blew up to six meters per second, allowed all eleven classes to race in optimal conditions, letting the 49er class, Tornado class and FD class to race three regattas and the rest of the classes to dispute two races, with the exception of the Mistral who only raced once.

In the 470 male class, Zandonà continues his winning streak together with Andrea Trani, winners of both races and five overall. After this winning duo, some room for the local sailors, Fonda.Zuchetti followed by Pressich-Burisc.

Among the women in the 470 female class, Federica Prunai and Emanuela Sossi, who have won two races today, thus putting them ahead in the provisional over all results, in front of Magistro-Cecconi and Saccheggiani-Fiorentino.

In the 49er class, first place goes to Mazzotti-Ivaldi, second place for the Modena cousins followed by the Sibello brothers.

Among the Tornado class, ahead of the group are Marcolini-Bianchi, followed by Dusan Puh and Sonino coupled with Bruni, today they were in second place three times.

The Europa class continues to see first place for Rebecca Rettori, with six points leading over Larissa Nevierov followed by Angela Mastalli.

Finally, in the Mistral Class, after numerous attempts, was able to finish a race which was dominated by Riccardo Giordano, second place for Alessandro Alberti and Marco Ferrera.

The Laser class sees Michele Regolo at the top of the over all results, followed by Giorgio Poggi and Davide Bortoletto. The favoured Negri came only in 11th place and the local boy Paoletti had an anticipated start and a seventh place, which puts him in tenth place over all.

Michele Marchesini, in the Finn class, had two second place results and now leads the over all. He is trailed by Massimo Gherarducci, two times in first place but still ahead of Marco Buglielli, in third place.

In the two races of today for the Yngling class, Giulia Conti, who won both races of today and along with the victory of the other day, is leading the over all results. Cristiana Monina is in second place and Chiara Calligaris in third.

Amazing races for the Star class overall competitors Fravezzi_Cozzolotto, today sixth and second, trailed by Enrico Chieffi-Sommaria who won both of todays races. Third place for Veggetti-Devoti (fifth and fourth place)

Finally, the FD class, with Vespasiani-Gerunzi leading, followed by Paolo-Poggianti and Patrone-Loleo.
