SUCCESSFUL FINAL FOR THE BEST EVER COPA DEL REY-AGUA BRAVA

In the last day of the Copa del Rey-Agua Brava, the forecast was fulfilled winning Caixa Galicia in IMS 500 and Italtel in IMS 600. Top leaders fought in the last regatta not only for being first, but for keeping the advantage on top of their followers: Bribón and Zurich in each category.

In IMS 500, Caixa Galicia of Roberto Bermúdez arrived second behind the winner, Balearia of Antonio Gorostegui, which once again made a great regatta; with this result, Balearia reaches the third position in the general score. The third place in today’s regatta was Bribón of HM the King, which reasserts a merited second position in the overall results. Subaru X-Sport roused to the occasion, reaching fourth position. Fifth was Banco Espirito Santo, one of the best team of this edition.

In IMS 600, the final triumph was obtained by Italtel of Vasco Vascotto winning five of the nine celebrated tests. Second classified was Zurich of Jordi Calafat. Wind, of Lorenzo Bressani remains third, a great team which was using this boat for the first time.

The National Teams Trophy was won by Spain thanks to the Caixa Galicia-Zurich Team, on top of the Italians Subaru X-Sport and Italtel.

In this 22nd Copa del Rey-Agua Brava the great level of the participants remains evident, with America’s Cup crews and state of the art designs.

This year, the wind wanted to be protagonist blowing with good intensity on top of the 8 knots mark and directions between 190 and 240.

The Real Club Náutico of Palma de Mallorca, carried out the organization of the 22nd Copa del Rey-Agua Brava with efficiency and experience, being praised by the participants.
