Annual Yacht Clubs Of Long Beach Charity Regatta
- Fair Weather Expected For A Good Cause
September 26, 2003 (LONG BEACH,
CA) – Tomorrow, a group of roughly 100 boats
at 10 different venues will participate in the 17th
Annual Yacht Clubs Of Long Beach Charity Regatta
benefiting The Children’s Clinic. Hailed as
one of the most enjoyable events on the Southern
California racing calendar, the event also adds
the dynamics of giving back to the surrounding community
of Long Beach, CA.
The
forecast for tomorrow’s racing is for light
winds with areas of fog in the morning becoming
W 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon; all-in-all typical
conditions for Long Beach at this time of year.
Racing should be extremely competitive all around
in optimal conditions such as these.
Racing is scheduled to commence
with the first gun at 11:55am. Following the days
racing is the traditional Burger Bash and trophy
presentation to be held this year at Alamitos Bay
Yacht Club located at 7201 E. Ocean Blvd., Long

The Children's Clinic of Long Beach
is a non-profit (502)(c)(3), license, community
clinic whose mission is dedicated to providing quality
health care, health education, and health promotion
in a culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate
manner to medically underserved children and their
families in the cities of the greater Long Beach
area. The Children's Clinic was established in 1939
by a group of physicians who realized the importance
of access to health care for all children, particularly
those who are low-income and therefore at greater
risk for health problems. In it's 64 year history,
The Children's Clinic has grown from offering weekly
well-child care to a daily, full-service health
care facility.
