NICATOR
CROSSES FINISH LINE
24 January 2003 - 15.10pm (S.African time)
Swedish
entry, Nicator crossed the line just before 10:48
am, local time in a light Southerly breeze. The
crew skippered by Klabbe Nylof is extremely happy
to be in Rio and all are reportedly fit and well.
The elapsed time of 12 days, 23 hours, 47 minutes
and 54 seconds is about 10 hours outside of Zephyrus
IV's 2000 record.
The
crew are disapointed not to have broken this record,
but did not have the weather playing its part
in order to do this.
They
did however win their class against the local
entry Adrenalina Pura who is expected to arrive
tomorrow afternoon in Rio.
