Booth / Dercksen winners of the second race at Tornado Worlds
EDS
Sailing Team with Mitch Booth and Herbert Dercksen from the
Netherlands won the second race at the World Championship
Tornado in America. Booth and Dercksen were running on top
nearly during the whole race. The American team with Guck
and Farrar pressed the EDS Sailing Team hard and ended up
in second position. During the race, the windforce was between
10 and 15 knots.
The Austrian team with Hagara and Steinacher won the first
race. During this race, the EDS Sailing Team came up from
the 30th position to the 12th place at the finish. Herbert:
"Too bad for the first race, but we are satisfied about
the second race. It is just the beginning of the competition,
so anything is possible. We do see the victory of the second
race as a good start." After two races of the Exact Software
2002 Tornado World Championship, Booth and Dercksen have the
fifth ranking overall.
Fifty-seven teams from twenty countries and five continents
are participating in the Exact Software 2002 Tornado World
Championship from Monday 23 until Saturday 29 September 2002.
