REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Day 2 - Conditions in Chicago didn't change much on Saturday. It was still cold but the wind was a bit more 'typical' for Belmont Harbor with large changes in pressure and direction. What didn't change was the results. The change in sailing conditions only managed to rattle first day leader Boston College a bit. While the gap between them and 2nd place was narrowed, they still have what probably amounts to an insurmountable lead going into the final day of racing. The other big story of the regatta is the battle for 2nd and 3rd place. Minnesota and Wisconsin have been close all regatta and the racing on day 2 was no different. These two teams are seperated by only 1 point going into Sunday's racing. Coincidentally, they are also vying for the Fall MCSA championship. Racing on Sunday may prove to be exciting for both sailors and spectators. Partly due to the close battle for 2nd but also due to the forecast winds of 30 knots. If that isn't enough, the direction, West, should make for
some interesting shifts and puffs as the wind swirls around the harbor.
