Review - Introducing The New Nautica Watches Yacht
Timer
By Sean Downey - Editor,

The
Nautica Watches Yacht Timer is a beautiful piece
of machinery. It is simplistic in design and functionality,
and presents a truly elegant look that will carry
it from the water to a formal night out.
The
model I tested was fitted with the solid steel
bracelet. It is a substantial watch with a solid
weight to it. The band is a little lighter feeling
which keeps the weight down:
Overall
appearance: The look of the watch is stylish,
clean and very pleasing to the eye. It sports
a rich blue ring and the hands, numbers and miscellaneous
marks stand out perfectly against the white face.
Functions:
This watch lives up to its name as a Yacht Timer
with a 10 minute maximum countdown and up to 96
hours of chronographic display on course. It also
has an alarm, and date and is water resistant
to 100 meters.
Ease
of Use: The watch features simple-to-use controls
to change its settings. The main crown on the
right unscrews and can be pulled out to three
different positions to set time, date and alarm.
The top right button controls the yacht timer
start and stop and also sets the overall timer
length from 10 - 1 minutes, while the bottom right
controls the reset of the yacht timer to "zero".
The bottom left button simply turns on and off
the alarm.
As
an every-day time piece, this watch is spectacular
and has affected continuous compliments from nearly
everyone I've come into contact with. It's simplistic
and classic design makes is the perfect watch,
and then there's still the yacht timer to talk
about.
As
an active racer, I rely on an accurate and dependable
timer in the starting sequence. This watch uses
strictly analog display and while clean, can sometimes
cause a delay in reading the time remaining, until
you get used to it.
The
RED sweeping hand in the middle indicates the
minutes, and the small dial on the left indicates
seconds within those minutes remaining with a
movement at two-second intervals. Simply stated,
the only thing you don't see is the individual
second counted down. Once you get accustomed to
this, you will find that this watch is great.
Another
great thing about this watch is with the configuration
of its buttons, you don't have to worry about
the timer resetting itself accidentally as is
the case with other yacht timers.
I
would recommend this watch not just for racers
but for all yachtsmen.

watch will be available at the Nautica Watches
