Grands
Records - Salvador?

April 17:45
At
13:17 GMT today, Saturday 17 April, Geronimo’s
position was 14°01S, 34°46W, 60 nautical
miles south of the latitude of Salvador
The
baroque city of Salvador (formerly Bahia) was
once Brazil’s colonial capital, and still
remains its third largest city. Could it live
up to its name and deliver salvation for Olivier
de Kersauson and his crew?
Will
they finally find the wind they need off Todos
os Santos bay?
Whatever
prayers may or may not have been said by those
on board the trimaran and, closer to home, by
those of her shore–based teams, Geronimo
was reporting 13 knots of southeasterly wind at
the time of this position fix. The Capgemini and
Schneider Electric trimaran was then making a
true speed of 14.9 knots.
