An intermediate fix taken at 19:09 GMT today, Tuesday 23 March, showed the Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric trimaran's position to be 49°54S, 119°06E.

Having felt the effect of much better wind conditions in the second half of their 27th day at sea, the crew of Geronimo saw their spot actual speed increase to 17.1 knots as they continued on their east-southeasterly heading.

Let's hope that the grey trimaran and her crew can find even more speed as their night ends some 850 nautical miles off Southern Australia.
