Grands
Records - Geronimo Mid-morning
21 March 13:20
After
the slowdown reported earlier, Geronimo seems
to be gradually picking up speed again, according
to the data received during her mid-morning position
check today, 21 March.
At
11:16 GMT, the Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric
trimaran was making a true speed of 13.7 knots
towards Cape Leeuwin – 4 knots faster than
a few hours earlier. She has covered 162 nautical
miles in the first 12 hours of her 25th day at
sea.
Her
position of 49°59S, 98°42E suggest that
the trimaran skippered by Olivier de Kersauson
has now gybed, since her heading of 76° means
that she is now heading northeast.
