Grands Records - Geronimo Approaches The Longitude Of The Cape Of Good Hope
14 March 21:50

An intermediate position check at 19:12 GMT (20:12 French time) today, Sunday 14 March, showed Geronimo’s position to be 43°57S, 17°012E.

Olivier de Kersauson’s trimaran was just a few dozen nautical miles from the longitude of the Cape of Good Hope at 18°28'26E and approaching it at a spot actual speed of 19.7 knots on a true heading of 94°.

The Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric trimaran was clearly demonstrating her intention of leaving the Atlantic for the Indian Ocean before the end of her 17th day at sea in pursuit of the Jules Verne Trophy.
