An
intermediate position check at 19:12 GMT (20:12
French time) today, Sunday 14 March, showed Geronimo’s
position to be 43°57S, 17°012E.
Olivier
de Kersauson’s trimaran was just a few dozen
nautical miles from the longitude of the Cape
of Good Hope at 18°28'26E and approaching
it at a spot actual speed of 19.7 knots on a true
heading of 94°.
The
Cap Gemini and Schneider Electric trimaran was
clearly demonstrating her intention of leaving
the Atlantic for the Indian Ocean before the end
of her 17th day at sea in pursuit of the Jules
Verne Trophy.
