A Report From the Edge

Aloha All,
"It is a beautiful day on the Pacific.
We went through some light air yesterday but found more wind
last night and have pick up our pace. The big spinnaker is still
up and we are now averaging about 8.5 kts. The ocean is mild
with a 3 ft. following sea.
We set out our fishing line this morning
and immediately got a strike but lost the fish before we could
get it on board. Saw a large whale sleeping on the surface this
morning. We altered course a few degrees to say hello and sailed
right up to him, he looked us over and then dove not to be seen
again.
It appears that Élan mis-reported
their position yesterday and is still in second place ahead
of us. We have our work cut out for us to beat them and the
Wildflower. Both are doing well and will be a real challenge.
That's all for now, back to sailing..."
