News - National Federation of Sailing School:
New Site Helps Users
THEY’LL
be one definitive site for information on training
centres and courses when the new National Federation
for Sailing Schools website goes live in September.
The Federation has decided to reinforce its position
as the place to search and find out information
on different sail and power training centres and
the courses they offer with the addition of a
new course calendar application.
And the new site, which goes live in time for
the Southampton Boat Show, will be the only one
on the web to offer information on accredited
high standard training centres, not only under
an area, but also type of course and date.
Spokesman for the NFSS, Brigid Howells, said:
“Other sites do give information on member
training centre listings, but these are not combined
with course dates.
“We’ve identified this opportunity
to add the new section to our website which member
training centres will be able to update directly
so it will always have the latest information.”
Another advantage is that the site will make it
easier and quicker for visitors to find information
on courses if they are restricted to certain dates
or can only make a booking at the last minute.
Brigid added: “We are finding the internet
is now being universally used by people who are
looking for details of courses.
“The NFSS website, designed by BreezeMarine,
is very user friendly – it’s easy
– even for people who aren’t totally
computer literate – to navigate their way
around.
“This new service will give the enquirer
everything at their fingertips and save them much
time in the initial investigative and research
stage of finding what courses are available and
when they are being held.
“Sometimes, the dates people are able to
undergo a training course are quite limited.
“Now they’ll be able to look up different
centres on the site, not only by area and type
of course offered, but also by the available dates.”
And she said anyone wanting details of courses
can also make direct email and telephone enquiries
to the NFSS.
She confirmed there are more still more exciting
plans for the future of the site, all of which
will make it even easier to use and more comprehensive
for users.
